LG-built Kenmore refrigerator error code CH
LG wrote this code, not Kenmore. On a refrigerator wearing this badge, CH means: A sealed-system problem — LG's published meaning is a leak on the high or the low side. These are the closest LG comes to naming a compressor problem

About LG-built Kenmore refrigerator error code CH
Whose code this actually is
Kenmore did not write CH, because Kenmore has never built an appliance. This one is LG's, and it appears on the refrigerator that LG built and Sears sold under the Kenmore badge. Four different manufacturers built refrigerators under this badge, and several of them use an F with a number for unrelated conditions. That is the single most convincing way to reach the wrong component.
What it means
A sealed-system problem — LG's published meaning is a leak on the high or the low side. These are the closest LG comes to naming a compressor problem in consumer material; no consumer code names the linear compressor itself.
Which Kenmore models can raise it
The Kenmore refrigerator whose model number begins 795 — the three digits before the period on the rating plate. Those digits are LG's, which is why LG's table is the one that applies to CH and no other manufacturer's does.
The other ways it may be written
The same condition is published under more than one label, because it has been carried across generations of the appliance and because a segment display draws some characters oddly: CL, ER(E) CH, ER(E) CL. They are the same finding and they lead to the same place.
What happens next
- This is not a code with a household answer.
- Everything cheaper should be ruled out before anybody quotes a sealed system, and on a mass-market cabinet the replace-instead conversation is a real one.
Where this usually goes
The job this most often becomes is refrigerator not cooling repair, and that page carries a starting figure and the reasons that move it. A Kenmore refrigerator in this humidity hands its defrost circuit more work than it was sized for, and in a Miami kitchen a floor-level condenser blocks well ahead of any published interval. Photograph the display before you cut the power: a reset clears CH, and on a Kenmore the characters plus three digits off the plate are most of the diagnosis.
Where this meaning came from
LG's own documentation: LG Help Library — error code lists. Kenmore publishes none of its own, which is why every entry on this site names the manufacturer's document instead.
