The three digits before the period do the work
Kenmore has never manufactured an appliance, so a model number here is not a family, a platform
or a generation. It is two facts stuck together. The three digits before the period name the company
that built the machine, and everything after it identifies the specific unit that company made. 110,
106 and 665 are Whirlpool. 795 and 796 are LG. 253, 790, 587 and 417 are Frigidaire. 362 and 363 are
GE, 233 is Broan, 911 is Roper, and 630 is Bosch. Two appliances that look identical in a showroom
can be built by two different manufacturers, and the number is the only thing that says so.
Why these pages carry the number without its period
The plate prints it as 110.44832400 and this site writes it as
11044832400, and both are on every page. The reason is mechanical: search treats a dotted number as two terms and an undotted one as
one, and the phrase a page is filed under has to appear on that page as a single string. So the
title, the address and the search phrase drop the period, the prose keeps it, and somebody holding
the appliance can match what they are looking at against what is written.
Kenmore, Elite and Pro are trim levels
They are feature and finish levels applied across whichever manufacturer built the unit, not
engineering families. An Elite refrigerator may be LG-built and an Elite range Frigidaire-built, and
neither fact follows from the badge on the door. If somebody has told you what your appliance is
based on the line name, they have told you nothing about the parts inside it.
Why this list looks the way it does
Every number here was confirmed on a catalog page that names the appliance, one at a time, rather
than worked out from its prefix — because the prefix does not name the appliance. Verification found
a gas range filed under a dishwasher prefix and a freezer under a refrigeration one. That makes this
a shorter list than a generated one would be, and a correct one. If your number is not on it, that
says nothing about whether we repair the appliance: send the whole number off the plate and what it
is doing, and we will tell you who built it and what the visit would involve.
