Diagnostic visit
from $95
Credited toward the repair. It opens with the three digits off the plate, because nothing useful can be looked up until we know who built the machine.

Kenmore has never manufactured an appliance. Whirlpool, LG, Frigidaire, GE, Broan, Roper and Bosch built the machines wearing this badge, and the three digits before the period on your model number say which. That decides the parts, the diagnostic sequence and whether there is a code table to read at all. Send us those digits and a line about what it is doing.
What we repair
A dishwasher wearing this nameplate is a Whirlpool, a Frigidaire or a Bosch. A washer is a Whirlpool or an LG. A hood is a Broan. Each has its own page because the diagnosis does not transfer between them any more than it transfers between brands.
The appliance the badge is best known for, and the one where knowing who built it changes the repair most. A Kenmore refrigerator in a South Florida kitchen is a Whirlpool, a Frigidaire or an LG underneath, and the first three digits of the model number say which. That decides the parts, the diagnostic sequence and whether there is a published code table to read at all — so it is the first thing we ask for.
Standalone uprights and chest freezers, most of them Frigidaire-built or Whirlpool-built, and most of them living somewhere hot: a garage, a utility room, a covered porch. That location is half the diagnosis. A freezer asked to hold zero degrees in a garage that reaches ninety-five is working at the edge of what it was designed for, and it fails differently from one in a kitchen.
Standalone and undercounter ice makers, which are a separate appliance from the ice maker built into a refrigerator door. They have their own compressor, their own water path and their own harvest mechanism, and they are designed to run continuously rather than in the background. In South Florida that means they run almost every hour of the year, on water that is hard enough to change how they behave within months.
Built-in dishwashers. 665 is the number on most of the plates we see and it is Whirlpool-built; 587 is Frigidaire and 630 is Bosch, and all three turn up in South Florida kitchens. Whirlpool publishes a real code scheme for these, which makes a dishwasher one of the more readable appliances on this badge — provided you read the code against the right builder's table.
Laundry is where the decode matters most, because a Kenmore washer can be a Whirlpool, an an LG, and those are two genuinely different machines. A 110 and a 796 do not share a pump, a control board, a diagnostic sequence or a code table, and they do not fail the same way. The model number is not a formality on this appliance — it is the difference between the right visit and the wrong one.
Electric and gas dryers built by Whirlpool, LG and Frigidaire under the badge. On this appliance the single most useful thing we can tell you is that a large share of no-heat and long-cycle calls are the vent rather than the dryer — and in South Florida houses the vent runs are longer, flatter and wetter than the ones these machines were designed around.

Three digits before anything else
There is no such thing as a Kenmore error code. What is on your display was written by Whirlpool, LG or Frigidaire, and which of the three depends on the first three digits of your model number. Read against the wrong company's table, the same characters give you a confident answer pointing at the wrong part. All 132 entries here name the manufacturer and the document they came from.
The rating plate — inside the fresh food compartment, under the lid, on the door frame, or on the tub edge
A genuine Sears-hosted owner's manual names only “Sears, Roebuck and Co.” — Sears never published this mapping. What is on this site is the trade decode, checked model by model against distributor catalogs that file each unit under the manufacturer that built it.
What a display can show you, and whose format it is
F8 E1
Whirlpool's two-part form. The F names the family and the E narrows it, so the pair matters and the first half alone does not.
OE, dE, LE
LG's two-letter form. Case and shape carry meaning here, and a segment display draws some of them oddly.
SY EF, Er CE
Frigidaire's form. Several of these are named by the maker and never defined, and where that is true we say so rather than filling the gap.
Sud, PF, CL
Words and short forms, published in the same tables as genuine problems. Suds, a power failure and a control lock are not repairs.
The collisions worth knowing before you look anything up
| PF | A power failure notice, published by three different companies on four different appliances. Not a problem: a record that the supply went away mid-cycle. |
|---|---|
| dE | DOOR OPEN on an LG-built front-loader and LID ERROR on an LG-built top-loader. One manufacturer, two machines, two findings. |
| F-and-a-number | Whirlpool and Frigidaire both use it, for entirely unrelated conditions. This is the single most convincing way to reach the wrong part. |
| d8O and dGs | LG duct-block codes, and no LG document prints them with plain numerals. If you typed a zero, you were looking at a letter. |
| 911 | A Roper-built range. Roper publishes no code documentation of any kind, so there is nothing to look up and this site says so instead of inventing a table. |
Every row here comes from the manufacturer's own documentation, and each of the 132 entries on this site names the document it was read from.
Photograph the display, then photograph the plate. Those two pictures together are most of what shortens a first visit on this badge.
Every code and signal, by manufacturerNo characters on the display at all, or an appliance that has none? Cooktops, range hoods and standalone ice makers have no published table from anybody, and neither does a Roper-built 911 range. Start from what the appliance is doing instead.
How a visit runs
Including everything after the period. On this badge that is not paperwork — it is the first step of the diagnosis, because it names the manufacturer and therefore which documentation, which sequence and which parts catalog apply.
Seals, sensors, elements, pumps, igniters and switches travel with us. These are mass-market components made in enormous numbers by the companies that built your appliance, so most of these end in one visit rather than two.
The free causes get ruled out first because they are free — a control lock, a disposer plug, a vent, a demonstration mode. Then the measurement. Nothing is opened until you have the scope and the figure, and the diagnostic comes off the bill when you go ahead.
This is a mid-market catalog, so the point where a repair stops being worth it arrives earlier than on a built-in brand. Where that is the answer you hear it before the work rather than after, with both numbers in front of you.
What it costs
Every figure here is a starting point for this equipment in South Florida, researched rather than invented, with the reasons attached. All 33 of them have a cost page with the evidence beside it.
from $95
Credited toward the repair. It opens with the three digits off the plate, because nothing useful can be looked up until we know who built the machine.
from $115
The lowest refrigeration figure here and deliberately so. A starved water path shows up as hollow ice, slow dispensing and an ice maker that looks like it has died.
from $119
The cheapest job on the site and the one that prevents the most. Airflow measured before and after, so the result is a number rather than an impression.
from $95
On no other site in this fleet, because no other brand is a badge. The part is ordered against the builder's number, and on a discontinued unit that lookup decides whether the repair exists.
from $165
When the cooktop works and the oven does not, that sentence has already separated two circuits. Elements fail open with no visible mark, so looking is not a test.
from $595
Licensed refrigerant work, reached last, and the row where replacement most often wins on this catalog. We would rather say that than quote it and hope.
Every figure here is a starting point and a researched market band for South Florida, never a quote and never an invoice. The exact cost is confirmed after an on-site diagnostic and agreed in writing before anything is opened.
Every figure, and what moves itWhere we work
59 cities and neighborhoods, each with a page saying what we actually see there. Tell us where you are when you book and we will come back with the earliest slot we can genuinely keep.
Neighborhoods people ask for by name
Coverage is the whole of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach — the pages below are the places people search for by name, not the edge of where we drive.
Add a photograph of whatever the display is showing. Between them we can usually name a likely part before anybody sets off, and you get the scope and the price in writing before anything is opened.
This article is based on:
Before you call
The first three digits of the model number, before the period. 110, 106 and 665 are Whirlpool. 795 and 796 are LG. 253, 790, 587 and 417 are Frigidaire. 362 and 363 are GE, 233 is Broan, 911 is Roper and 630 is Bosch. Everything else about the repair follows from that one fact.
Before anything else, check whether cooling has been switched off on purpose. Whirlpool-built cabinets have a cooling-off setting and Frigidaire-built ones have a demonstration mode, which is how showroom floor models are made to light up without refrigerating — and appliances are sold off those floors still in it. It costs nothing to check and it gets quoted as a sealed system by people who do not.
It is a trim level, not an engineering family. Kenmore, Elite and Pro are feature and finish levels applied across whichever manufacturer built the unit, so an Elite refrigerator may be LG-built and an Elite range Frigidaire-built. The badge line tells you nothing about the parts. The prefix does.
Often, and more often than people expect, because the component is catalogued under the number of the company that built it as well as under the Sears one. The badge-side catalog stops being maintained first, which is why cross-referencing is a published job on this site. Sometimes the answer is that the part is genuinely gone, and that is worth knowing before you spend anything. We have 65 model pages here and the number on your plate does not have to be one of them.
From $95, and it comes off the bill when you go ahead with the repair. It pays for the diagnosis, which is the work — and it is what makes it possible for us to tell you that nothing needs replacing.
No. We are an independent repair company working in Miami, not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by any manufacturer or retailer, and we warrant our own workmanship. What we have is 20 symptom pages and 132 code and signal pages, every one of them attributed to the company that actually wrote it.
