Kenmore induction cooktop repair
An induction top that shuts down mid-cook, refuses a pan, or has lost a zone. More of these turn out to be heat and ventilation than electronics — the power stage lives under the glass and is cooled by a fan, and a cabinet that traps warm air makes a healthy cooktop protect itself.

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Ventilation and the cooling fan
Audible, unobstructed, and with somewhere for the warm air to go. An enclosed installation in a warm kitchen is the commonest cause of a shutdown.
-
02
Pan and detection
Some pans are simply not compatible and some are too small for the zone. It is worth ruling out before anybody opens the appliance.
-
03
Which zones are affected
One zone points at its coil or its driver. All zones points at the power supply or the main board.
-
04
Test the power stage
Supply, driver and the temperature protection. This is the part of the job that needs the cooktop out.
-
05
Cook on it before we leave
A long hold at high power on the affected zone, because a thermal shutdown will not reproduce in five minutes.

Gas, radiant and induction · drop-in Kenmore cooktop repair in Miami
Drop-in cooktops — gas, radiant electric and induction. A cooktop is the simplest appliance in the kitchen on gas and one of the most electronic on induction, and the two share almost nothing but the hole they sit in. What they do share is that a single dead zone is usually a component rather than the whole appliance.
- One dead zone is rarely the whole cooktop
- Gas is mechanical, induction is electronic
- The glass itself is the one part we cannot repair

About Kenmore induction cooktop repair
About induction repairs and thermal shutdowns
Three things make this the most expensive cooking job here, and none of them is the part. The electronics live under a glass surface that has to come up carefully, the unit generally has to come out of a counter it was sealed into, and the commonest complaint — works for a while, then stops — cannot be diagnosed without reproducing it under load. That takes time. The cause is more often cooling or installation than electronics: an induction cooktop is a power electronics assembly with a fan, and it depends on being able to breathe.

Questions about Kenmore induction cooktop repair
It works and then shuts off after a while.
Classic thermal protection. Blocked intakes, a failed fan or an installation with no clearance produce exactly that, and correcting it is cheaper and more durable than replacing a board.
A zone does not recognize my pan.
Try a different pan and a magnet before anything else. Non-ferrous or warped cookware accounts for a real share of these calls with nothing wrong with the appliance.
