Kenmore dryer heating element replacement
An electric dryer that tumbles without heat. The element or a thermal cut-off is the usual answer — and a cut-off that has opened is very often the vent's doing rather than bad luck, which is why the duct is checked in the same visit rather than in the next one.

The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Confirm there is no heat rather than not enough
A dryer with weak heat and a dryer with none point in different directions.
-
02
Test the element and the protection
Element, thermal fuse, cycling thermostat and high-limit, in circuit. Replacing the fuse alone leaves the reason it blew in place.
-
03
Check the vent
Because an overheating dryer opened that cut-off for a reason, and a new one will open too. This is not an upsell, it is the repair.
-
04
Fit the correct parts
By the builder's part number for that platform, with the protection replaced as a set where the builder specifies it.
-
05
Run a full cycle
Heat measured in the drum and at the exhaust, with a real load.

Electric and gas · 110, 796 and 417 Kenmore dryer repair in Miami
Electric and gas dryers built by Whirlpool, LG and Frigidaire under the badge. On this appliance the single most useful thing we can tell you is that a large share of no-heat and long-cycle calls are the vent rather than the dryer — and in South Florida houses the vent runs are longer, flatter and wetter than the ones these machines were designed around.
- 110 is Whirlpool-built, 796 is LG-built, 417 is Frigidaire-built
- The vent causes more of these calls than any part does
- Gas and electric fail in different places

About Kenmore dryer heating element replacement
About no-heat repairs on an electric dryer
Heating elements do fail on their own, but far more of them fail because they were asked to run in air that was not moving. That is a duct problem wearing an element's clothes, which is why the vent is checked as part of this repair rather than offered as an extra. The thermal protection goes back with the element because it is sacrificial by design and has already been through the event that killed the element — a few dollars now, a second visit later. Whirlpool-built 110, LG-built 796 and Frigidaire-built 417 dryers do not share a heat circuit layout, and reading the prefix first is what keeps this to one visit.

Questions about Kenmore dryer heating element replacement
It tumbles but there is no heat at all.
Check the vent first, and establish whether the dryer is gas or electric. Those two questions narrow this to a short list before anything is opened.
Why replace parts that still work?
Because thermal protection is designed to be spent, and it has already lived through the failure. Replacing it now costs very little and skipping it costs a second visit.
